The NHS Long Term Plan (2019) committed to bring General Practice together to work at scale to expand educational capacity, whilst ensuring the quality of learning environments and educators.
In response to this, regions across NHS England Workforce, Education and Training Directorate (WT&E) are scaling up Primary Care learning environments. Moving from a model which approved single GP practices, to approval across a Primary Care Network (PCN) footprint, allowing students / learners to be hosted across multiple settings, creating an integrated pathway for learning.
