Population Health and Prevention

What is a ‘population health’ approach? And what role do we all play in keeping our communities healthy?

Watch this Kings Fund animation to find out more about population health:

Preventable diseases are major causes of mortality and morbidity in England. They are caused by behavioural factors such as smoking, poor diet and excessive alcohol consumption. People are living longer but many are living with several co-morbidities and a poorer quality of life. The poorer and most deprived groups are most affected which highlights the inequality and inequity in health.
