Saying no to patients is something most clinicians wrestle with – after all, we were trained to be helpful and try to solve problems and saying can feel wrong. But sometimes patient expectations are unrealistic and we need to help them to set appropriate boundaries. Furthermore, increasingly, with longer and longer waits across every aspect of the health system, sometimes their expectations are reasonable, but we simply cannot deliver what they are hoping for – and if we try to “rescue” these situations their expectations of what we can deliver will increase further and it can be even harder to set boundaries, which can contribute to the very real risk of clinician burnout. This webinar aims to help delegates to manage these tricky situations.
