The South East Cancer and Diagnostic programme, working within the Workforce Training and Education Directorate of NHS England continues to work closely with multiple partners to support delivery of cancer and diagnostic services by having the right people, with the right skills, in the right roles at the right time.
A second application round is now open for our funded initiatives the programme still has capacity to support in 2025/26. Applications close at 9am on Friday 11 July 2025.
Please note
- Outcomes for applications submitted in Round 1 (March/April) have been communicated. There is no need to resubmit earlier applications.
- The Clinical Endoscopy Programme is inviting applications on a rolling basis and so is not restricted to the July deadline date.

Clinical Endoscopist programme
Fully funded intensive training programme (both academic and clinical education and training), to train and upskill existing healthcare staff to become proficient clinical endoscopists, increasing capacity to allow consultants to perform more complex cases (including screening). We also offer upskilling grants for clinical endoscopists to extend their practice.
