Thames Valley Training Hub and Hampshire Isle of Wight Training Hub have funded places available to support eligible allied health professionals (AHPs) and registered nurses to complete an independent prescribing (IP) module, and gain their ‘IP annotation’.
What is independent prescribing?
The Thames Valley and Wessex (TVW) and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Primary Care Schools have collaborated to produce the multi-professional independent prescribing in General Practice document [PDF, size: 273 KB]. This resource provides details on prescribing rights for professions eligible, ongoing development and governance processes.
Eligible professions
The following professions, working in Primary Care are eligible to attain an IP annotation:
- Paramedics
- Physiotherapists
- Podiatrists
- Registered nurses
How to apply for IP funding
AHPs and nurses should submit the expressions of interest independent prescribing funding application Microsoft Form or scan the QR code to request IP funding.

Your funding request will be reviewed by your regional Training Hub, and you will receive an email outcome with details on how to apply via your chosen provider, should your request be approved.
