Mental Health

HEE Wessex is working to support healthcare partners train and shape the NHS workforce, improving services and care for patients.

At least one-in-four people experience mental ill health at some point in their life. It is the single largest cause of disability in the UK.

All health professionals should have an understanding of mental ill health conditions including awareness of the links between patients’ mental and physical health.

HEE Wessex works in partnership with mental health services across a range of settings for both adults and children and young people, to identify workforce solutions that are responsive to the changing service delivery needs. Promoting new roles, enabling development opportunities and working with partners including Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to scope and commission training are all part of the diverse and flexible work being undertaken.
