Mid-Wessex GP Study Leave Funding

Mid-Wessex GP Study Leave Funding

Study leave time guidance

ST1/2 GP trainees are given thirty days per year study leave. This consists of fifteen internal days to use to attend ST1/2 teaching sessions, plus fifteen days to use as you wish. It is advisable to use half during each six-month post, so seven to eight days entitlement during each six-month post.

If you are in a hospital post, please liaise with your rota coordinator to arrange study leave time. If you are in a GP post, please liaise with your educational supervisor and practice manager to arrange study leave time.

ST3 GP trainees should liaise with their educational supervisor with regard to taking study leave in preparation for exams. It is advised that ST3s take two days study leave before the AKT exam and one days study leave before the SCA exam, but for the SCA exam preparation it is better to be in the practice.
