Wessex AiT Sub-Committee
The Wessex AiT (Associates in Training) gives GP trainees the opportunity to voice their opinions on the development of policy and future initiatives in relation to their GP training and RCGP membership. Run ‘by trainees, for trainees’, it aims to provide support through identifying and solving problems that may arise and to be an advocate for trainees in liaising with the Deanery and Royal College. Issues that arise can be anything from training posts to exam queries.
Committee members are elected on a yearly basis and the sub-committee is chaired by a trainee elected from within the sub-committee.
Meetings take place three or four times a year and all trainees receive a summary and updates through their Patch Representative.
If you are interested in getting involved or there are any issues you would like to raise, please email WessexAiT@gmail.com
The Wessex AiT Subcommittee have also developed a useful handbook in order to help trainees and their trainers plan their induction when they start their placement in a GP practice
