Recent Practitioner Testimonial
“In 2023, I began the UKPHR programme and registered as a Public Health Practitioner the following year. I was working for Hampshire Library Service and used the project work I had delivered to write 3 commentaries.
The programme developed my knowledge in numerous areas of public health and attending the masterclasses were key to this. Writing the commentaries gave me a chance to reflect on my achievements and mapping my local work against the UKPHR standards, showed how it fitted into the ‘bigger picture’. After completing UKPHR, I worked on a new pilot which allowed me to put my learning into practice, contributing to the planning and delivery of a very successful project. Shortly after this, I applied for a practitioner role in the Hampshire Public Health team, where I am now working in falls prevention.
I would advise others involved in delivering public health work, to consider applying for UKPHR. It is a chance to learn and develop professionally, as well as reflect on and celebrate your public health achievements.”Practitioner from Cohort 12
