Stroke Medicine

Stroke medicine involves the management of all forms of stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA), including diagnosis, investigation, acute treatment, rehabilitation and re-integration, secondary prevention and long-term complications.

Wessex offers enthusiastic educational supervisors to provide support to stroke trainees in a breadth of hospitals offering stroke, from district generals to tertiary centres.

This is an exciting and constantly expanding field with new treatments and very active research at the forefront of Stroke medicine.

Wessex offers holistic care across the patient journey, from hyperacute treatments to rehabilitation in community.

Our aim is to produce doctors who will be the Stroke physicians of the future.
