Cancer and Diagnostics Education and Training Funding Opportunities 2026/27 Round 1

Applications now invited

The South East Cancer and Diagnostic programme, working within the Workforce Training and Education Directorate of NHS England continues to work closely with multiple partners to support delivery of cancer and diagnostic services by having the right people, with the right skills, in the right roles at the right time.

Applications are now open for funded initiatives the programme hopes to be able to support in 2026/27. Applications close at 9am on Wednesday 1 April 2026.

  • Please note – 2026/27 funding has not yet been confirmed, and guidance documentation is subject to change pending sign off by the national NHSE programme.
  • The Clinical Endoscopy Programme is inviting applications on a rolling basis.

Cancer

Training grants to support the development of aspiring and existing Chemotherapy Nurses, in accessing training and development opportunities aligned to the ACCEND framework.

Training grants to support the development of aspiring and existing Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists and access training and development opportunities aligned to the ACCEND framework.

Training grants to support development and upskilling where it will support progression of the Care Pathway Navigator against the ACCEND framework. Can be used via an Apprenticeship Programme or via an upskilling course.

Endoscopy

Supporting endoscopy workforce training and competency assessments using the JAG developed and approved blended learning JETS workforce programme.

Fully funded intensive training programme (both academic and clinical education and training), to train and upskill existing healthcare staff to become proficient clinical endoscopists, increasing capacity to allow consultants to perform more complex cases (including screening).
