This half-day course provides an opportunity for Wessex Foundation doctors in postgraduate training who are working in psychiatry to:
- practice communication skills, using simulated scenarios
- improve their ability to assess and manage problems that arise in psychiatric settings
Group and individual feedback is provided, to help doctors reflect on their communication skills. No pre-training preparation is required.
By the end of the session, doctors should be able to understand their communication style and gain confidence in their interactions across wide ranging clinical scenarios.
All Foundation doctors working in a psychiatry placement in Southern Health, Solent, IOW and AWP, Sussex Partnership Trusts are required to attend.
The training is held via Zoom. Invitation links are circulated closer to the training dates.
