Named Clinical Supervisor

A doctor in training must have a Named Clinical Supervisor (NCS) for each placement, who should oversee the acquisition of the required clinical competencies for their named trainee during the placement.

They will give constructive feedback to the trainee and are responsible for ensuring that the trainee is not expected to take responsibility for, or perform, any clinical activity or technique if they do not have the appropriate experience and expertise.
