NHS England’s (NHSE) Workforce Education and Training Directorate (formerly Health Education England) is responsible for the quality assurance of the education and training of healthcare learners in England. The assurance and approval of Primary Care Learning Environment has been delegated to local Primary Care School teams.
Primary Care Network (PCN) teams are expected to seek verification as Primary Care Network Learning Environments (PCNLEs) as part of the core deliverables of this project. This will allow the applying organisations within the PCN to be formally approved as a joint learning environment, and host learners across multiple sites.
Verification panels
To be considered for approval / verification as a PCNLE, PCNs must sign up for a verification panel following completion of the PCNLE Approval document.

A maximum of three spaces are available for each verification panel, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If PCNs do not submit their approval paperwork two weeks prior to panel, their space may be reallocated.

To apply for approval as a PCN wide Learning Environment, please complete the PCNLE Approval document. Please refer to the core and supporting resources for more information about this process.
