Wessex GP Registrar Sub-Committee

The Wessex GP Registrar Sub-Committee gives GP Resident Doctors the opportunity to voice their opinions on the development of policy and future initiatives in relation to their GP training and RCGP membership. Run ‘by registrars, for registrars’, it aims to provide support through identifying and solving problems that may arise and to be an advocate for trainees in liaising with the Deanery and Royal College. Issues that arise can be anything from training posts to exam queries.

Committee members are elected on a yearly basis and the sub-committee is chaired by a GP Registrar elected from within the sub-committee.

Meetings take place three or four times a year and all Registrars receive a summary and updates through their Patch Representative.

If you are interested in getting involved or there are any issues you would like to raise, please email WessexAiT@gmail.com

The Wessex GP Registrar Subcommittee have also developed a useful handbook in order to help GP Registrars and their Trainers plan their induction when they start their placement in a GP practice
