Paramedic education and supervision programme

TVW Primary Care School and the College of Paramedics are working in partnership to deliver an education and supervision programme offering support to paramedics new to Primary Care.

What is the paramedic education and supervision programme (PESP)?

PESP is a free monthly programme delivered by multi-professional facilitators, encompassing clinical and non-clinical topics as well as the opportunity for peer support, networking and reflection.

Paramedics within the first two years of working in Primary Care in Thames Valley and Hampshire and Isle of Wight are eligible for the programme and will require release from other duties one morning per month.

Why attend PESP?

We recognise there is a transition for all clinicians when first moving into Primary Care. This can create both learning needs and supervision needs, including the need to share experiences with peers and other members of the Primary Care team.

The aim of the programme is to establish an education and supervision programme that supports the learning needs of paramedics new to Primary Care:

  • Identifying and addressing common learning needs of paramedics new to delivering care in General Practice
  • Facilitating a professional network of peer support and learning with small group work
  • Providing educational oversight and professional support
  • Promoting the transition to an educational culture, of autonomous learning, by the end of programme

How to apply

If you would like to book your place on PESP, please complete the paramedic education and supervision programme (extended pilot) Microsoft Form.

Sessions will be run virtually 9am-12pm on the final Tuesday morning of the month for 12-months.
