Associate Dean
Get to know Saima
I am the Primary Care Training Hub Associate Dean but also wear other hats as a GP, appraiser, mentor, as well as a trained coach. I’m passionate about supporting the development of people and teams, and I particularly enjoy coaching conversations that spark fresh thinking, unlock potential, and inspire meaningful change, whether in person or online.
What I love most about my work is helping others grow and seeing the positive impact that has on individuals, teams, and ultimately patient care.Fun fact: I’m a keen Scrabble player and have been known to get a little too competitive when there’s a triple-word score in sight!
Outside work, I’m an avid reader and always have a book on the go. My guilty pleasure is getting completely absorbed in a good box set and telling myself, “just one more episode”… usually several episodes later!

Dr Emer Forde
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Training Hub GP Tutor

Claire Sutton
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Training Hub Clinical Learning Environment Lead for Nursing
Get to know Claire
I am a Clinical Learning Environment Lead and registered pharmacy technician, passionate about supporting learners across healthcare. Working alongside a wide range of healthcare professionals is one of the highlights of my role, and I love deepening my understanding of how each part of the workforce supports and complements the others to deliver safe, high-quality care.
Outside of work, I am a keen jewellery maker. My hobby has grown into something I love sharing with others, and I sell my handmade pieces at markets. It’s a creative outlet that balances the pace of healthcare nicely.
When I’m not working or making, you’ll usually find me out on a walk with Peggy, my small dog and constant companion.

Angie Thompsett
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Training Hub Clinical Learning Environment Lead for Nursing
Get to know Angie
I am Angie. I am a Nurse who is passionate about learning, education and helping people grow. My NHS journey started as a hospital cleaner, I became a Healthcare Assistant and later qualified as a Nurse. From this journey, I have a huge amount of respect for every role within a team and understand how much of a difference support, encouragement and opportunity can make.
I love seeing people develop their confidence, learn new skills and achieve things they didn’t think were possible. I’m a big believer that it’s never too late to learn something new and that there’s always a way to get where you want to be.
Outside of work, I am a mum of five, a grandma to five, as well as quite a few 4 legged grandbabies. I love a good book, and attempting to learn painting with watercolours, I enjoy adventures in my classic campervan and classic Mini. I hold a medal in tea drinking and if cake is included even better.

Dr Helen Pandya

I am committed to advancing education and workforce development within primary care. In my Training Hub role, I support practices and Primary Care Networks in creating high-quality educational environments that enable learners to thrive and support the continued development of a skilled and sustainable workforce.
When I am not working, you’ll often find me outdoors, either in the mountains or on the water. I am a mum of three and enjoy travelling, discovering new places, and taking on adventures with my family.

Libby MacKenzie
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Primary Care Training Hub Lead
Get to know Libby
I am the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Primary Care Training Hub Lead and bring more than 20 years’ experience working in education.
I care deeply about creating an effective, supportive team and helping others to develop and fulfil their potential. I believe that when we get this right, primary care staff are better equipped and supported to provide the best possible care for our patients.
Outside work, I love reading—preferably in the garden during the summer or in a patch of winter sunshine with a cat on my lap. I also enjoy cooking and exploring new places.
Fun fact: I once visited Kazakhstan to learn about its education system and was interviewed by a local television channel. I was then recognised by another passenger on the flight home—my brief encounter with international fame!
Guilty pleasure: I find it almost impossible to leave a bookshop empty-handed, however many unread books are already waiting for me at home.
