Community Participatory Action Research Programme

Community Participatory Action Research Showcase Event
10th, 11th, 12th May 2022, 09:30-12:30

Celebrating and showcasing the work of community participatory action researchers in the South East

Health Education England South East (HEE SE), in partnership with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, NHS England & Improvements and the Scottish Community Development Centre welcome you to this online event on the Community Participatory Action Research (CPAR) work that has been in place across the South East.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, inequalities in health have become magnified amongst people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds. This project takes on board recommendation 2 of the Beyond the Data report by  ‘supporting community participatory research, in which researchers and community stakeholders engage as equal partners.

In 2021, 40 community researchers from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities were trained and mentored to undertake research in their communities.

This event will bring together the researchers, community members and strategic partners to share the insights from their work; learn from the implementation of the projects and use this event as an opportunity to promote the research to directly impact health outcomes.
