The National Education and Training Survey (NETS) is the first multi-professional learner survey for all healthcare learners. It offers a unique insight into learner perceptions of the clinical learning environment and is a vital tool in the quality management process. NETS seeks to gather feedback on clinical placements. It does not ask questions about programmes, courses or learning in non-clinical settings (such as universities). It is therefore important that, for those who it is applicable to, the National Student Survey (NSS) is also completed.
NETS is intended to provide a critical source of evidence for standards contained within the HEE Quality Framework.
Implementation of the NETS will enable good practice to be identified and shared nationally, as well as highlighting areas of risk to be addressed. This data is then analysed and fed back to key stakeholders, such as training providers and approved education providers.
