The focus of this workstream is to work with developed workforce solutions in urgent and emergency care to alleviate related pressures. Ensuring there is an emergency care workforce with the right numbers, skills and behaviours is a strategic priority for HEE.
Ongoing work across Wessex is aiming to:
- increase the number of trainees, consultants and multi-professional staff in emergency care
- introduce new roles, for example rotating paramedics, physicians associates and clinical pharmacists
- develop the existing workforce, including advanced practice
- support new ways of working
